How to Set Up UPI Autopay for Member Renewals
Before You Start
UPI autopay in CRM-VEDA collects membership renewals automatically once a member has authorized it, removing the need for front desk staff to manually follow up on every renewal. Setup takes a few minutes per member and only needs to be done once; after that, renewals are collected automatically each billing cycle.
Step 1: Enable UPI Autopay in Settings
From the CRM-VEDA dashboard, go to Settings > Payments and confirm UPI autopay is enabled for your gym's account. This is typically already active by default for new accounts, but it's worth checking if renewals aren't collecting automatically.
Step 2: Send the Authorization Request
Open the member's profile and select Enable Autopay. This sends the member a UPI mandate authorization request directly, which they approve from their own UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or similar). No manual card details or bank information are entered on your end.
Step 3: Confirm the Mandate Is Active
Once the member approves the request, their profile shows autopay as active, and their next renewal will be collected automatically on the due date, with a WhatsApp confirmation sent once payment goes through.
What Happens If a Payment Fails
If an autopay attempt fails, for example due to insufficient balance, CRM-VEDA automatically retries and sends the member a WhatsApp reminder with a manual payment link as a backup, so a single failed attempt doesn't mean the renewal gets missed entirely.
Common Questions
Can a member cancel autopay later?
Yes, a member can revoke the UPI mandate from their own UPI app at any time, or a gym admin can disable it from the member's profile in CRM-VEDA.
Is there an extra fee for UPI autopay?
UPI autopay is included as part of CRM-VEDA's billing features rather than being a separate paid add-on. Check current pricing for full plan details.
